Yes

There is one word that God wants to hear from everyone. One requirement to follow Him. What is it? “Yes”! Many will say “yes” on Sunday, and “no” or “I’ll think about it” the rest of the week. People tend to think they are doing God a favor, but God does not need us, we need Him. Without God, we are nothing; God without us, is still God. So we should clearly see that following Christ is a privilege and not punishment, so it must be taken more seriously. Part time obedience to God is full time disobedience. We have to learn to say “yes” to God even when we don’t want to.

What am I saying “Yes” to? The plan and purpose of God. It is no longer what I want, who I want, how I want it, when I want it, etc. God wants us to love Him more than we love ourselves and others. We’ve made bad decisions our entire life, and since we know God is all powerful and wiser than we can ever imagine, we should place our lives into His hands. God is in control over Heaven, Hell and the world at the same time, we can’t even control our emotions. I think it only make sense to trust Him! Whether we want to obey or not, “yes” is the best decision to make. If we’re honest with ourselves, every time we have disobeyed God and did our own thing, we have made mistakes, ended up sin, been hurt or hurt someone else, or produced more bad than good. When God tells us to let go of something or to do something, it is not bad to wonder “why”, but it is bad to question God’s sovereignty and His wisdom. If God asks you to let go of someone or takes them out of your life, it’s because He has a better plan for you, there time is up in your life, or he was shielding you from harm. It isn’t for you to chase after them. If God tells you to let go of certain music, games, clothes, etc., it may seem hard, but it is for your benefit. Some of us entertain things that causes sin to be in our heart, and God is trying to uproot it from us. Some of us wonder why we are always upset, miserable, lusting, lukewarm, double minded and it’s because we are feeding our flesh with garbage. God wants us to feed our spirit and starve our flesh. What we feed will live, and what we starve will die. Say “NO” to what the devil offers, don’t try to bargain. It is not safe trying to figure out how much you could sin and still be considered saved. If we play with fire, we will be burned.

When I go before God in worship or prayer, I rather my heart be without words, than my words without heart. God doesn’t need me to say big or much words for Him to be pleased with my worship, He sees my heart. God seeks for pure worship, those who worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). So I don’t want to put on a show because I cannot fool God. I may seem “spiritual” to the onlookers, but can be God upset because I’m offering up a foul odor in His presence. We can’t use our hands to blatantly sin, and then lift it up before God without asking Him to cleanse us. We can’t say “yes” to doing ministry, but “no” to the way God wants us to live. Worship is also a lifestyle, not just what we do in church.

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. (Matthew 15:8 KJV)

Your worship means nothing without a “yes”. Your singing, preaching, teaching, ministry, evangelizing, tweeting about God, Facebook statuses about God, memorizing bible verses, and everything else you do means NOTHING without a “yes”! God sees our motives behind everything. He knows whether we love Him or love the spotlight. I know this because people have said they look up to me because I know a lot about God, but I still fall short and I still have to correct myself and get back in line. I know whether or not I have a relationship with this God that I preach about. I cannot say you are saved or you aren’t, but I can warn you that “God is not, and was never playing”. Hell is real, just like Heaven. If we don’t start living what we preach, everything will be in vain. You may have messed up yesterday, and you may still be playing church, but it is never too late to tell God “yes”. That’s all He wants, you to surrender. Giving tithes, being nice, being a pastor or having a degree in theology doesn’t make you right in God’s eyes.

And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? (1 Peter 4:18)

And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord ? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. (1 Samuel 15:22)

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:14)

Choose in your mind today, whether or not you’re willingly to tell God “yes” or to continue doing whatever you want. Just remember, that at the end of the day, God knows your heart.

God bless, Tovares Grey

We have a bit of a…. “touchy” subject today! Pun intended. There’s no bible verse that’s explicitly anti-masturbation. However, let’s see what the word may imply by this. Ask yourself these questions
