One can I agree, if they’re honest, that we are really lacking prayer in the church today. Sunday service is always packed, and yes you can find a few people in youth services. However, prayer meetings are always decreasing. The question is, “why?”
1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
This scripture does not mean that from the moment you wake up until you fall asleep, you need to be on your knees praying. We have to first realize that prayer is communication with God. We should live a prayerful lifestyle, In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:6
Pray Until Something Happens
We all make the mistake of thinking that praying is for a specific group of people, an “intercessory group”. Yes, I BELIEVE that some people are gifted with the anointing to pray more intense than others, but we are all called to intercede.
1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
The priests duty was to intercede on behalf of the people, so now it is our duty to pray for others. God is looking for servants to stand in the gap.
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Ezekiel 22:30
Today make the decision in your heart to give God more time in prayer, he wants to hear from you! Never get too busy that you don’t spend time with your God. Give the Creator more time than the creation.
